GrimDeeper was contracted to perform third-party turbidity monitoring on this Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW) maintenance dredging project. USACE was the contracting officer. Southwind Construction was the prime dredging contractor.
The project involved the dredging, utilizing the Cutter-Suction Dredge (CSD) “Jenny Lea II”, and placement of approximately 44,000 cubic yards of shoaled material from the ICWW to placement onto Jupiter beach. Turbidity monitoring included sampling at the dredge site, discharge, and seagrass beds on a 12-hour basis in 4-hour intervals (3 times per day).
