GrimDeeper was contracted to perform third-party turbidity monitoring on this Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW) maintenance dredging project. Taylor Engineering was the contracting officer. The Florida Inland Navigation District (F.I.N.D.) was the project sponsor, and Southwind Construction was the prime dredging contractor.
The project involved the dredging, utilizing the Cutter-Suction Dredge (CSD) “Wilko”, and placement of approximately 30,000 cubic yards of shoaled material from the ICWW to upland placement into the M-5 disposal area. Turbidity monitoring included sampling at the dredge site, discharge, and seagrass beds on a 24-hour basis in 4-hour intervals (6 times per day).
